The highly anticipated "Hsinchu International Anime Art Festival," eagerly awaited by anime fans nationwide, grandly kicked off on May 3rd at Neiwan Station of the Taiwan Railways in Hsinchu County. The first event, the "Super Popular Anime Character Parade at the Happy Station," featured large, immensely popular anime figures from Japan and other regions, as well as Hsinchu’s locally beloved Pipi the Lion and the Five-Colored Bird, all joining in the fun with both adults and children. In addition, Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun dressed up as a train conductor and, together with the giant characters, handed out 1,000 carnations to wish all mothers a happy holiday.

This event invited popular Japanese anime characters, including Keroro the Sergeant, Ninja Hattori, Yumeiro Patissiere, Dae Jang Geum, Monster Hunter's Aloo, as well as Hsinchu’s local Pipi the Lion and the Five-Colored Bird, to parade through five key spots at the Neiwan event venue. The public can interact and take photos with these beloved characters while exploring the station and old street, making it a great family-friendly activity.

Additionally,visitors who take photos with the characters on-site and check in can receive special small gifts. After taking a photo with any of the characters, participants can upload the photo to the Facebook fan page “Neiwan Dream Railway – Taiwan Manga Dream Factory” to redeem a limited-edition, beautifully crafted small gift at the event’s information desk.It’s fun and offers prizes, drawing an enthusiastic response from the crowd.

With a long history, Neiwan Station has been infused with new energy through the Anime Art Festival. On Saturday, May 3rd at 9 AM, the Super Popular Anime Character Parade at the Happy Station brought to life beloved anime characters—usually only seen in publications or animations—as giant figures. These characters blended with Neiwan’s unique features and scenery to accompany visitors from all over for a delightful weekend.

The Taiwan Manga Dream Factory’s “Neiwan Dream Railway” Anime Art Festival offers non-stop activities.On May 10th, a Cosplay Romantic Battle event will be held at Hoxing Station, followed by the Taiwan Super COSPLAY Festival on May 11th—anime fans shouldn’t miss out.Those interested in cartoon stars should seize this chance to witness Asia’s richest and largest anime art event.
