Taipei Fuxin Hotel – A Small Gift with Big Sentiment, Zongzi Fragrance During the Dragon Boat Festival
This year, Taipei Fuxin Hotel, through the joint development of two Chinese restaurant chefs, proudly unveils four distinctive Dragon Boat Festival zongzi flavors—two savory and two sweet. Carefully selected ingredients are combined to create: Sakura Scallop Abalone Zongzi, Dried Scallop Braised Pork Zongzi, Pomelo Red Bean Zongzi, and Purple Glutinous Rice Red Bean Paste Zongzi. These exquisitely flavorful treats offer a satisfying bite whether enjoyed personally or gifted to loved ones, delivering a fulfilling mouthfeel and lingering aroma in every mouthful, brimming with happiness.
The two savory zongzi, “Sakura Scallop Abalone Zongzi” and “Dried Scallop Braised Pork Zongzi,” combine traditional Taiwanese elements with Cantonese-style braised pork zongzi, mixed with shiitake mushrooms, chestnuts, and glutinous rice, enhanced by the rich flavor of salted duck egg yolks. Premium ingredients such as dried scallops and abalone enrich the filling, creating a layered texture and aromatic delight that showcases the quality of each component. The two sweet zongzi, “Pomelo Red Bean Zongzi” and “Purple Glutinous Rice Red Bean Paste Zongzi,” offer a refreshing and delicate taste.
You can taste the fruity tanginess and the perfectly balanced, smooth sweetness of the red bean paste, slow-cooked to ideal consistency without being cloying. The fully steamed rice grains are Q (chewy), soft, sweet, and easily digestible, making the indulgence guilt-free. Each gift box comes with a cute and elegant insulated bag. There is also a special promotion: each box contains six zongzi, priced at NT$1,200. Options include the “Fuxin Four-Flavor Zongzi Gift Box” (2 Sakura Scallop Abalone Zongzi, 2 Dried Scallop Braised Pork Zongzi, 1 Pomelo Red Bean Zongzi, 1 Purple Glutinous Rice Red Bean Paste Zongzi) or the “Fuxin Zongzi Fragrance Gift Box” (3 Sakura Scallop Abalone Zongzi, 3 Dried Scallop Braised Pork Zongzi).

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, Beitou L’Hermitage Taipei has also introduced festive offerings, hoping all guests visiting Beitou can relax and “zong” it up while savoring traditional flavors. This year, going against the trend, the hotel is giving away zongzi rather than selling them, inviting all honored guests to come and “zong” it up on the festival day (June 2). L’Hermitage Taipei presents exclusive Dragon Boat Festival giveaways, including chef-crafted wellness homemade zongzi, crystal sweet zongzi, and a hidden gem—mugwort macarons.
The “Zong It Up” activities include:
【Stay and Zong】Upon check-in on the day, each guest receives a chef-crafted crystal sweet zongzi paired with fragrant osmanthus wine.
【Afternoon Zong】Enjoy the British afternoon tea at Yongcui Court, where each guest is served Dragon Boat Festival-exclusive wellness homemade zongzi, crystal sweet zongzi, and mugwort macarons.
The Dragon Boat Festival-limited wellness homemade zongzi is exclusively available at Yongcui Court’s afternoon tea session on June 2. The chef selects local Taiwanese ingredients for a healthy, non-greasy treat, using traditional methods to deliver the comforting flavors of home—without any heavy oils or guilt. The crystal sweet zongzi presents itself in a delicate, bite-sized form, paired with specially made osmanthus honey for a fragrant aftertaste. The patisserie chef handcrafts hidden mugwort macarons using seasonal fruits, pairing fragrant and tangy passion fruit lemon shells with mugwort filling for a uniquely addictive taste.
