The "2014 Tainan Cassia Festival," hosted by the Tainan Tourism Bureau and launched on May 17, officially came to an end on June 15. To attract visitors to the Hutoupi Reservoir scenic area to enjoy the blossoms and boost the local tourism economy, the event offered prizes such as three iPad minis and 10 Hutoupi Gold Cards. In addition to admiring the flowers, visitors could also participate in lucky draws. It is estimated that the event attracted 28,000 visitors during its run — an increase of nearly 20% compared to last year, demonstrating strong public participation.

The Tourism Bureau expressed gratitude for the enthusiastic public participation in the event. This year’s Tainan Cassia Festival received significant attention and feedback online, with the photography competition drawing nearly 1,500 submissions. The festival brought substantial business opportunities to the seven cassia flower viewing areas as well as nearby tourist spots and food establishments. The Cassia Flower Festival will definitely be held again next year, with plans to continuously update the flower viewing map. The aim is to provide visitors with a relaxing stroll and a romantic flower viewing experience every May and June.

To ensure the fairness and transparency of the lucky draw, a public ceremony was held. Consumer Ombudsman Lin Kuo-chen was invited to witness the event, which was fully recorded. Kao Yuan-po, head of the department, drew the lucky winners from 9,536 raffle tickets — three iPad minis and 10 Hutoupi Gold Cards.
