1. Chuan Tang Hot Spring Health Restaurant
Established in 1998, Chuan Tang Hot Spring requires a short but downhill walk along a stone-paved path to reach. Designed with a Japanese aesthetic, the area features shops themed around traditional Japanese townhouses, and even the music is Japanese enka, making you feel as if you’re in Kyoto. In addition to private hot spring rooms and an open-air public bath, the venue also offers Taiwanese health cuisine, Japanese dishes, coffee, and beer. Dining bills over NT$400 get you free access to the hot springs.

2. Huang Chi Hot Spring Imperial Cuisine
Also located on Xingyi Road, Huang Chi Hot Spring is highly rated. The venue’s pride is its rare green sulfur hot spring (radium spring), said to be found only in Beitou and Japan’s Tamagawa Onsen. Nestled among surrounding mountains, the overall decor carries a Japanese touch, and the semi-open-air SPA features a Japanese garden landscape with good ventilation, lighting, and privacy. 3. Coconut Grove Hot Spring Gourmet Restaurant
Coconut grove scenery in a hot spring restaurant — not just for summer? The eclectic style somehow works perfectly, letting you imagine you’re on a tropical island getaway while soaking. Located in the Shamao Mountain Hot Spring area, the spring water is acidic sulfuric with temperatures between 56–80°C. The valley floor steams with surface heat, creating a unique landscape. The menu mainly offers Chinese cuisine, including mushroom chicken hot pot, seafood fried noodles, and bacon cabbage.

4. Tianshi Hot Springs
With a history of 40 years, Tianshi Hot Spring rooms are a long-established option on Xingyi Road. Instead of going for a high-end, luxurious style, they embrace a simple, rustic vibe. The black-tiled, pointed-roof buildings are nestled against the mountain and by the water. After entering the classic traditional-style gate, you’ll need to descend 308 steps to reach the historic Japanese-style structures. There are both public baths and private hot spring rooms. Notably, the rooms here can be enjoyed solo, with staff periodically checking in for safety. The restaurant mainly serves Taiwanese cuisine, using self-grown, pesticide-free vegetables and fruits.

5. Sunmoon Farm
Established in 1979, Sunmoon Farm embraces simplicity and nature and is part of the Machang Hot Spring area. Nestled in a valley, it’s about a 5-minute drive from Qingshui Cliff in Yangmingshan to the farm. The naturally flowing white sulfur springs are abundant, with the water being semi-transparent yellow-white and carrying a strong sulfur scent. All hot spring pools are built with stones, giving them a very rustic feel. Aside from soaking, this is also a working farm that raises chickens, ducks, geese, and other poultry, making it a great spot that combines hot springs with eco-leisure.

Located in a secluded forested area, surrounded by greenery, visitors who have soaked here praise its great value. It covers a large area with 20 wooden double hot spring rooms, as well as male and female public baths and free foot soaking pools. The restaurant is known for Chinese cuisine, with mountain produce, vegetables, stir-fries, and native chicken dishes all on the menu. Most people enjoy a hearty meal here after their soak. There’s also a tea house for leisurely tea drinking.
