As the romantic white-blossomed tung tree season of May comes to an end, the dazzling "golden rain" of the golden shower trees, commonly known as the "explosion tree," along with the large-flowered crepe myrtle, begin to bloom. Cooling and refreshing lotus flowers and water lilies soon follow, joyfully sharing the arrival of summer with visitors.

In summer, the golden shower trees often become a favorite subject for photography enthusiasts. Their cascading clusters of golden, bell-like flowers sway in the wind and gently fall like a golden shower. As the blossoms bloom, the leaves gradually diminish until the entire tree is covered with beautiful flowers. The most stunning time for the golden shower tree is when the petals transition from pale yellow to white just before falling, creating a picturesque contrast with the still-blooming golden-yellow flowers. Golden hues can be spotted at locations such as Luzhou Ren’ai Park, Banqiao Railway Station west side, Banqiao Xibei Park, Zhonghe Tailong Park, and Bali Left Bank Park.

Also in bloom is the large-flowered crepe myrtle, commonly known as the "explosion tree." With its tall stature and large leaves, the purple flowers that bloom upwards are particularly eye-catching in the summer. The blooming large-flowered crepe myrtles in Banqiao Music Park, Rose Park, and along Section 2 of Minsheng Road add a romantic purple touch to the vibrant summer. Refreshing lotus flowers also bloom in the lotus fields of Tamsui Tunshanli and the terraced fields of Sanzhi Hengshan’s A-Shi Bo, while peony lotuses can be found near the Jinshan Huangqing Avenue. Each lotus and water lily exudes a serene and almost spiritual atmosphere, with the cool shade of their leaves easing the summer heat.
