On July 6th, the panda cub turned one year old！

As the first giant panda born and raised in Taiwan, every move of hers has been the focus of public attention. The Taipei Zoo conducted a full set of health checkups for Yuan Zai, and the results all indicate that she is a perfectly healthy baby panda！ The zoo also specially designed eight bamboo tubes representing different careers for “Yuan Zai” to choose from during her "grab-the-fortune" activity.

According to the zoo, an illustrator who often uses the Malayan tapir as a character and frequently expresses envy in illustrations over how popular the giant pandas are, thus represents illustrators; the pangolin, skilled at digging burrows, is associated with engineers; the orangutan, with three generations passing down life skills, symbolizes teachers; and the red-crowned crane, with its elegant posture and naturally long legs, represents flight attendants. In addition, Yuan Zai happily enjoyed her special birthday cake, and during the event, the lively and active cub occasionally lost her balance and fell backward, looking particularly cute and endearing.

To catch a glimpse of Yuan Zai, you can visit during the giant panda house opening hours from 9:10 AM to 5:10 PM. Additionally, the Taipei Zoo has extended its opening hours to 6:10 PM every Saturday from July 5th to August 23rd in conjunction with summer vacation. Please note that the giant panda house is closed on the first Monday of each month, but if a national holiday falls on a Monday, the closure will be postponed.
