Summer in Kenting: Top 5 Must-Visit Attractions

The combination of white sand, blue water, and the warm hues of the setting sun creates an even more romantic and captivating scene. White Sand Bay is situated on the coast northwest of Elephant Trunk Hill and is named for its approximately 500-meter-long and 40-meter-wide stretch of white sandy beach. As the shallow waters contain scattered coral reefs, it is unsuitable for development as a swimming beach. Compared to other beaches in Kenting, it sees fewer visitors, thus preserving a more pristine and tranquil natural landscape.

When sightseeing, be mindful of cracks and sinkholes on the ground and keep steady footing to avoid accidents. At Longpan, besides enjoying the sea-meets-sky view and grassland scenery, the open green fields are a favorite stargazing spot for couples, as well as one of the best places to watch the sunrise in Kenting. Not far from Longpan, the Joint Logistics Activity Center also features a large lawn where many visitors simply lie down to relax and enjoy the clouds drifting by. To the right of its north building, near the parking lot, lies a large overgrown hollow known locally as the “Fairy Cave”—a karst landscape wonder and one of the area’s “sinkholes.” Inside, there are some limestone caves, but it’s very dark and rarely visited, so safety should be carefully considered.
