Qixi Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. To embrace the romantic atmosphere, Taipei Back Station shopping district is launching the “Love & Fireworks: Romance at Back Station” summer festival from July 22 to August 16. Local shops are offering a series of couple-exclusive promotions, such as buying a premium Valentine’s gift set worth tens of thousands of NT dollars for just 1,314 NT, or grabbing super-popular Valentine’s gifts for only 520 NT. On August 2 and 3 during the event, visitors dressed in couple outfits can get a limited-edition small gift (only 200 available) simply by checking in at the district. There will also be activities like the “Couple PK Challenge” and “Love DIY” experience zones. Over 60 types of discounts (starting from 10% off) are offered by district shops. Starting August 2, spend 1,000 NT at any store displaying the “Summer Festival Partner Store” sticker to receive a limited-edition Back Station shopping bag on the spot.

Chen Qing-fu, chairman of the Taipei Back Station Wholesale District Development Promotion Association, said that Taipei Back Station has long been known as Taiwan’s largest wholesale shopping district. Coupled with its evolution with the times, many shops have transitioned to retail while still offering near-wholesale prices — a great deal for shoppers.

 

From July 22 to August 16, shops will offer limited-edition Valentine’s goods under two special themes: “1314 Couples Only” and “520 Almost Lovers.”The “1314 Couples Only” selection features couple-themed sets such as matching watches, rings, necklaces, meal combos, and more — all available for just 1,314 NT. Some items are worth over ten thousand NT, with others at nearly 90% off. The “520 Almost Lovers” collection highlights popular Valentine’s gifts like skincare products, perfumes, and bags — all for just 520 NT.

 

On August 2 and 3, exciting activities will take place at the Nostalgia Plaza near Exit Y13 of the underground mall. A dedicated “Love DIY” experience zone will be set up, where shops provide materials for couples to make their own little love gifts for free — creating sweet memories through hands-on fun.The most thrilling highlight is the couple flash moment — the “Shining Love PK Challenge.” Twenty couples will compete in an obstacle course, with the challenge being for the guy to carry the girl and kiss her. The top three couples who hold the pose the longest win. The first prize is worth 10,000 NT. There’s also a consolation round where guys shout “I love you” to their partners — the loudest voice wins a romantic gift. Even couples who don’t win a prize will get a participation gift.
