The Ghost Gate Opens in怪物 Village: Special Ghost-Themed Shuttle Bus Hits the Road

To give the public a chance to experience the convenience of the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Xitou Line, organized by Nantou County Government in collaboration with the most popular attraction on the route — Monsters Village — the "Ghost-Themed Shuttle" was launched on the first day of Ghost Month. The ghost-filled shuttle departed from Taichung, with participants dressing up as terrifying ghosts and ghouls, even the driver dressed as a vampire with sharp fangs, scaring many passersby along the way. A family of four also dressed up as skulls, catching everyone’s eye with their adorable yet spooky look, especially the three-year-old little ghost who was the most popular. Several young women also participated, dressing up as female ghosts from Japan, Korea, and China. Their scary makeup attracted many people eager to take photos with them.

Monsters Village has also prepared a series of exciting activities to welcome ghosts and monsters coming to celebrate from all over. These include Japan’s Hyakki Yagyō (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons), ninja performance and stealth lessons from Iga Ueno, as well as joint performances for the first time by the “Nine Heavens Art Dance Troupe,” which starred in the film “Zhen Tou,” and the “Tianxiang Taiko Drum Troupe,” which has represented Taiwan in competitions in Japan, bringing audiences a double treat for the eyes and ears.

Celebrating Ghost Month on the first day of the seventh lunar month is no longer a taboo topic to avoid. Especially at Monsters Village on the Xitou Line, it’s famous for its playful and spooky fun. The celebration at Monsters Village will continue until August 10. The public can take advantage of the summer vacation to ride the convenient Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Xitou Line, travel to Xitou, and have fun with the ghosts.The route also features many worthwhile attractions, such as the DIY-friendly Zhushan Industrial Zone Sightseeing Factory, Taiwan’s most beautiful forest elementary school — Neihu Elementary, or enjoying a cup of tea in the Lugu Tea Region. Everyone is welcome to hop on the train and explore the hidden gems of Nantou.
