Another Japanese restaurant chain has expanded to Taiwan. YAYOI (やよい轩) in Japan is known for its Japanese-style set meals and currently operates 257 branches across the country. Since 2006, the brand has been expanding overseas, with 120 branches in Thailand alone. It entered Singapore in 2011 and now has five branches there. In June 2014, it opened its first overseas branch in Australia. In January 2014, YAYOI established a Taiwan subsidiary and officially launched its first Taipei branch on July 25.

The store is located near Songjiang Nanjing Station, an area densely populated with Japanese companies and frequent business activity, offering convenient transportation. YAYOI emphasizes traditional Japanese cuisine centered around rice, serving set meals that focus on both ingredients and high-quality rice. The rice used at YAYOI is the brand’s own premium “Kinme Rice,” imported from Japan to Taiwan. The diverse menu reflects the careful selection of ingredients, aiming to convey the spirit of authentic Japanese flavors to Taiwanese customers.
