The design of the “Imagine your Korea” logo emphasizes the letter K, which represents Korea, highlighting the country’s colorful tourism elements such as K-Wave, K-Food, and K-Style. The color scheme incorporates motifs from Korea’s iconic traditional silk fabrics, symbolizing the variety of exciting experiences that await visitors in Korea. The development of this tourism theme reflects the global trend towards human-centered values, underscores Korea’s rising international status, and showcases the country not only for its beautiful natural environment and long-standing historical heritage but also as a leading hub of global pop culture and a destination full of fashion and creativity.

Byeon Choo-seok, President of the Korea Tourism Organization, stated that in 2013, Korea welcomed over 12 million international visitors, solidifying its status as a true tourism powerhouse. At the same time, the nature of travel to Korea is evolving. There has been a decline in the number of visitors coming primarily due to proximity and affordability, while there is a growing influx of tourists eager to experience Korea’s pop culture, cuisine, traditions, and way of life. Through the announcement of this new promotional slogan, we aim to reaffirm to travelers around the world that Korea is a creative nation at the forefront of the latest trends and fashion culture. We are also formulating a medium- to long-term tourism development plan, with the goal of attracting 20 million visitors by 2020.In addition to tourism industry professionals and diplomatic envoys stationed in Korea, the “Imagine your Korea” launch event was attended by celebrities including Jun Ji-hyun, who plays Cheon Song-yi in “My Love from the Star,” the five-member boy group B1A4, and many other Hallyu stars.
