Breathtaking Frozen-in-Time Photography: A Must-Visit at Abraham Lake for Photography Enthusiasts

Abraham Lake is an artificial lake, constructed in 1972, and was named Abraham during a public naming contest. Every winter, the lake surface gathers a large amount of frozen bubbles, creating a dreamlike scene.
These bubbles are formed by marsh gas released from plants at the bottom of Abraham Lake combined with the low temperatures on the surface. The marsh gas continuously rises from the lake bottom. When the temperature drops to a certain level, the lake surface begins to freeze, encapsulating and preserving these gas-filled cavities. Layer upon layer of frozen bubbles accumulate to form the beautiful sight we see today.
