The reconstruction of the school took many years. After relocating to this site, it integrated its surroundings’ natural beauty and adopted ecological education as a core goal. Neihu Forest Elementary School is built entirely with natural timber, blending Chinese, Western, and Japanese architectural styles. The overall planning was carried out with minimal disruption to the original local ecology—utilizing existing stone blocks for walls and gravel for pathways, while preserving the original dense fir tree landscape. The design closely follows local scenic features. The campus is divided into teaching areas, ecological zones, specialized classrooms, administrative offices, dormitories, and activity areas. The overall architectural style leans toward Japanese aesthetics, offering a distinctive charm. The design harmonizes with the original landscape, allowing the original fir forests to remain in full view. Throughout the campus, trees serve as nature’s most beautiful landscaping.
