●Carry on the charm of the Yellow Duckling with Hoffmann’s “Moon Rabbit” for Mid-Autumn

Over the past year, the popularity of Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman’s Yellow Duckling has swept the globe, and its exhibition in Taiwan ignited a duck-chasing craze among locals. Following the immense success of the Yellow Duckling at the 2013 Taoyuan Land Art Festival, the 2014 Taoyuan Land Art Festival will take place from September 4 to 14 at the Taoyuan Daxi Naval Base. This year, Hofman is back in Taiwan with a custom-made themed installation — the “Moon Rabbit” — to accompany everyone during the Mid-Autumn break!

●Head to Kaohsiung’s Badlands for a fantastical Mid-Autumn journey

From September 6 to October 5, the Kaohsiung Tourism Bureau is hosting a fantasy-themed series of events called “Fantasy Moon World” along the lakeside trail at the Moon World Geo Park. The highlight is Taiwan’s first-ever mobile projection light sculpture system, which uses unique image splicing and cross-projection techniques to deliver a “3D Light Sculpture Projection Show” that blends special effects animation with themed projections, offering a magical visual spectacle of light and shadow.

●The Masago Music Festival Kicks Off this Mid-Autumn with Star-Studded Performances and Moon Gazing!

The “2014 Tainan Masago Music Festival,” organized by the Tainan City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau, was originally scheduled for August 9 but was postponed due to the Kaohsiung gas explosion incident. The event has been rescheduled for September 6 (Saturday) from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM at the original venue, and the public is invited to join in.

This year, during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the organizers invite the public to visit the most beautiful and light-pollution-free Mashagou Coastal Recreation Area to enjoy the moon and music together. The Tourism Bureau stated that the Tainan Mashagou Music Festival is now in its third year. The previous two editions attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic visitors each year, making it an important music event in southern Taiwan. To continue this passion and emotion for music in Tainan, this year, unlike previous editions, a "Mashagou Music Grand Prix" band competition has been added. The top three winning bands will perform as opening acts on September 6th. In addition, famous singers such as A-Lin, Victor Wong, and Chao Chih-Pi will take turns performing. With exciting performances in store, the public is welcome to bring their families to Tainan for a unique Mid-Autumn holiday.
