No need to travel abroad – you can also enjoy vibrant maple leaves in Taiwan. Hidden within the Jing Mountain community in Yangmingshan, “Taipei Aowanda,” renowned across northern Taiwan for its European-style garden landscaping, is exceptionally beautiful when covered in red foliage during spring and autumn every year. The maple viewing season at Taipei Aowanda differs from that of typical maple spots, which are usually concentrated between October and December in autumn and winter. Thanks to the Japanese varieties grafted onto the maple trees in the park, you can also admire a sea of gorgeous maple leaves in March and April in spring.

The park features various species of maple trees in a range of colors, and their great abundance creates an entire sea of fiery red maple foliage. The park’s maple leaves are divided into large-leaf and small-leaf types. The large-leaf maples are best for viewing fallen leaves, with autumn and winter being the ideal seasons; whereas the small-leaf maples are best for enjoying the red foliage, peaking every year in April and May. Sunlight shining on golden and wine-red leaves highlights the magical beauty of nature. The fiery red maple leaves add splashes of color to the greenery of spring, filling viewers with happiness and gently warming their hearts.
