The Jacaranda, also known as the Brazilian Jacaranda, is native to tropical and subtropical regions. It blooms from spring to early summer, with a flowering period of about two months. When in full bloom, the entire tree transforms into a massive bouquet of blue-purple blossoms, swaying gently in the breeze. The delicate fallen petals carry a faint fragrance, creating a breathtakingly beautiful sight.

New Farm Park is one of the best spots to admire the Jacaranda. This area not only preserves some historic buildings but also features trendy fashion, furniture, and renowned dining spots. Located by the Brisbane River, New Farm Park is easily accessible by public ferry. The park is lush and shaded, and besides the eye-catching Jacarandas, it also has a rose garden and various other plants. Locals love coming here for relaxing, romantic picnics amidst the blooming flowers in spring.

The University of Queensland is also home to many stunning Jacarandas. Located southwest of Cairns, about a 90-minute drive from Cairns, Herberton is an old tin mining town where all the shops and stores have been rebuilt to look exactly as they did over a century ago.
