Samsonite Group’s high-end luxury brand—Hartmann—has officially announced its entry into Taiwan. On September 11, it marked its official launch in Taiwan, leveraging 137 years of expertise in leather goods and luggage, as well as its global strengths, to break into Taiwan’s top-tier luggage consumer market. At yesterday’s press conference, fashion celebrities Eddie Peng and Bai Xuehuai were specially invited to transform into the glamorous and aristocratic Gatsby and Daisy from *The Great Gatsby*, carrying a classic suitcase with nearly 60 years of history to showcase the opulence of America’s golden age a century ago. As time passed and the scene shifted, Bai Xuehuai and another model changed into 21st-century style gentlemen and elegant ladies. Though their looks evolved, they still carried Hartmann, demonstrating the brand’s timeless elegance across centuries.

The press conference featured antique luggage specially flown in from overseas, including a century-old antique wardrobe trunk and a basswood briefcase gifted by President Roosevelt to Prime Minister Churchill. Compared with Hartmann’s 2014 new collection, what remains unchanged is the brand’s enduring attention to detail, exquisite leather craftsmanship, and commitment to handmade quality. It’s no wonder that besides President Roosevelt presenting Hartmann as a representative of American craftsmanship, other notable figures such as former Presidents George H. W. Bush and Lyndon B. Johnson, baseball legend Babe Ruth, Hollywood star Jimmy Stewart, and Ian Fleming, author of *James Bond*, were all loyal users of Hartmann.General Manager Lin Fuping stated: “The fact that so many presidents and prestigious families favor Hartmann shows that beyond its exceptional craftsmanship standing the test of time, the brand also captures cross-era aesthetics in its design, winning over top-tier market consumers!”
