Vietjet Air made a profit of NT$3.23 billion in 2016, with over 14 million passengers carried

Vietjet Air reported a turnover of approximately VND 2,753.2 billion in 2016, equivalent to about NT$37.21 billion in revenue, with a net profit of VND 239.4 billion (around NT$3.23 billion). Due to increased demand in the air travel market, Vietjet's passenger load factor last year also reached 88.9%, with over 14 million passengers carried.

Vietjet also achieved outstanding performance in flight safety and reliability across the Asia-Pacific region. In 2016, the airline operated 84,535 flights, accumulating 121,213 flight hours. Its technical reliability reached 99.56%, ranking first among A320 and A321 Airbus operators in the region, while its on-time performance rate for the year was 83.6%.

The Vietjet Training Center, established in early 2015, has trained 8,287 individuals and provided 655 courses totaling 25,249 training hours, issuing 3,351 certificates. These internationally standard-compliant and professionally qualified human resources will ensure the airline’s stable and sustainable development.

In 2016, Vietjet continued to expand its flight network both domestically and internationally, currently operating 63 routes — including 37 domestic routes within Vietnam and 26 international routes to destinations such as Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, China, and Myanmar. The fleet consists of 45 new A320 and A321 series aircraft, with an average age of 3.3 years. Since its establishment in 2011, the airline has carried nearly 35 million passengers.
