A 5.1-magnitude felt earthquake occurred on the evening of February 4 in a series of three consecutive quakes

While a cold wave has hit, the Central Weather Bureau has issued special weather warnings for low temperatures, heavy rain, and strong winds. On February 4, three earthquakes occurred in succession: one at 03:30 with a magnitude of 4.6, and another at 03:31 with a magnitude of 4.3. Both epicenters were located about 24 kilometers north of Hualien County Government.

The earthquake at 21:12 in the evening was felt in both Yilan and Hualien, with seismic intensity reaching level 4 to 5 (Hualien), level 3 (Yilan), and level 2 (mountainous areas of Taichung, Chiayi, and Yunlin).
