Kaohsiung City hosted its first“Qijin Black Sand Rock Festival” on October 11 at Qijin Beach, and the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau has specially organized the “Catch the Wild Black Sand Rock” photo check-in lottery event, giving away a total of 30 Polaroid cameras. Visitors are welcome to come to Qijin during the National Day holiday to enjoy rock music, take photos of the event, and win great prizes through check-ins！

With the slogan “Love Kaohsiung with rock, support Kaohsiung with music,” the Qijin Black Sand Rock Festival invites bands from across the country to create original songs dedicated to Kaohsiung. Dozens of indie bands have gone through tough preliminary and final rounds of competition, and will compete in the finals at Qijin on October 11. The event site will also feature a beach volleyball final, along with amazing performances by multiple bands, includingThat I Get You, Chen Jianwei, Echo, and Rivertree, ensuring non-stop excitement from afternoon till night at Qijin Beach.

Director Hsu Chuan-sheng said that Qijin is a very popular tourist destination in Kaohsiung, with around 5.77 million visitors last year. The newly completed Qijin Coastal Protection Project integrates the beach, windmill park, shell museum, and other coastal facilities to provide a high-quality waterfront space. In early September, a large public art installation “Golden Sea Rhythm” was added, consisting of the ocean shell “Sea Pearl” and six shell-shaped “Listening Points.” Strolling along the Windy Avenue to enjoy the sunset and listen to the sound of the waves has become a new highlight of Qijin.
