Taipei transforms into a purple romance of lavender fields like Furano and Nansho Stream

In the lush mountain forests of Shilin District in northern Taipei, the city government’s Department of Urban Development has specially created a limited autumn-winter lavender sea and tea tree trail at the Nansho Stream Nature Center, craftinga “Taipei Furano,” which will be open from November 1 to 9, 103 (2014), inviting everyone to feast their eyes on the purple flower sea and let the soothing, fragrant scent of lavender refresh both body and mind.

The lavender in the Yikang Garden at the Nansho Stream Nature Center is in full bloom. Combined with the view of Taipei City from above Nansho Stream, the planted lavender and the tea tree avenue in the park aim to provide citizens with a relaxing environment.The Yikang Garden at the Nansho Stream Nature Center will be open for free self-guided visits daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM from November 1 to November 9, 103 (2014) (closed on Mondays for maintenance), without the need for advance registration.About 12,000 lavender plants have been planted, with approximately 60% currently in bloom, hoping to offer the public a more colorful experience.
