The film depicts a once-happily-married couple, Connor (played by James McAvoy) and Eleanor (played by Jessica Chastain), whose lives are completely shattered after the tragedy of losing their child. Their vastly different ways of coping with grief lead to misunderstandings and rifts, gradually unraveling their relationship. Can they rediscover their happy love and marriage? To show their love and appreciation for Taiwanese audiences, the Taiwan distributor specially re-edited the film to create a unique official trailer exclusive to Taiwan.
