The dazzling "Osaka Light Renaissance" and "Midosuji Illumination" light up your winter Christmas in Osaka
Every year at the end of the year, Osaka hosts a spectacular light festival,the "Osaka Light Renaissance" and "Midosuji Illumination" kick off on December 1 and continue until January 18, 2015, with dazzling lights that will illuminate Osaka’s nights in a riot of color. In addition to the lighting display in front of Osaka City Hall, this year’s Midosuji Illumination will stretch from 1.9 kilometers last year to 3 kilometers, running from Yodoyabashi all the way to Namba West Exit Intersection, creating one of Osaka’s most magical lightscapes. After 5 p.m. during the event period, visitors can enjoy four types of colorful light displays, as well as LED-lit simulations of winter cherry blossoms.

, using Japan’s iconic Osaka Castle as the backdrop to deliver another luxurious and spectacular visual experience.
The Light Renaissance takes place on Nakanoshima Island, presenting a grand and magnificent celebration of light. Visitors can walk along the route from Osaka City Hall to Nakanoshima Park and enjoy a variety of novel and unique light displays, as well as works by artists who traveled all the way from Lyon, France. Meanwhile, you can also savor delicious food at cafes and markets, and enjoy live music performances.
