To enhance international tourism cooperation through the concept of “stations with the same name,” the TRA held a press conference in Tokyo, Japan, in March with the Tourism Bureau to announce the “32? Same-Name Station One-Day Station Master Recruitment” campaign. In September, the list was revealed, inviting 32 Japanese representatives to visit Taiwan and experience 32 corresponding TRA stations, where they served as one-day station masters. The tour, spanning four days and three nights, was led by renowned Japanese singer Sachiko Kobayashi.

In September, the selected participants were announced, and 32 Japanese representatives were invited to Taiwan to visit the 32 TRA stations sharing the same names and to experience a one-day role as station master. The tour, lasting four days and three nights, was led by famous Japanese singer Sachiko Kobayashi.

The 32 Japanese train enthusiasts split into seven groups to visit all 32 same-name stations across Taiwan for two days of on-site tours. Based on local tourist attractions and railway heritage centers, they provided guided tours to allow the Japanese visitors to fully experience the unique charm and appeal of Taiwan-Japan same-name stations, thereby promoting railway tourism between the two countries.
