Celebrate Christmas in Wanjin with light projections this year – three free shuttle routes available to avoid traffic jams!

A 3D light projection show brings a century-old shrine to life again. Last year, the Wanjin Christmas Festival introduced light projections for the first time, transforming the nation’s oldest Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Mary in Wanjin into a vibrant canvas that caused a sensation. On the 5th, Pingtung County Government unveiled the test version of this year’s Wanjin Christmas Festival light projections, which, in addition to continuing religious elements, also feature green sea turtles, Pingtung agricultural products, and beloved children’s animations projected onto the Basilica, promising a magical and enchanting Christmas night for the public.

To accommodate the large crowds expected during the Wanjin Christmas Festival, Pingtung County Government has launched a shuttle bus plan starting December 13.Three free shuttle routes will be available on Saturdays and Sundays. Shuttle stops are located at Pingtung Bus Terminal (Train Station), Wanjin Military Camp, and Wanluan Township Office.Out-of-town visitors can take a train directly to Pingtung Train Station and board the shuttle there, while those driving may park their vehicles at Wanjin Military Camp or in parking lots near the township office or Jiazo Elementary School before transferring to the shuttle to avoid congestion.
