【Visit an Exhibition】2014 QINMEI Christmas Village: Thousands of Lights Ignite Hope and Bring Warmth

The QINMEI Christmas Village enters its seventh year, jointly created by the QINMEI Museum of Art, Eslite Spectrum Greenway and golden 131 Greenway Mall, transforming the Caotun Road area into the most romantic and heartwarming Christmas village in central Taiwan. This year, the QINMEI Museum of Art...“Hey, I Made a Wish for You”This is the theme of the finale event, which invites 10,000 members of the public to participate in wish-making art creation. It's not only to send blessings to loved ones but also to offer warm and bright wishes to strangers. All proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the registered charity Taiwan HuaHua Association to support children with disabilities in achieving independent living and to foster creativity and artistic development.

This exhibition specially invites illustrators such as Xiao Lu Ying Hua, Croter Huang, Michun, Xie Yiru, Xu Zhihong, and 57 to curate. The QINMEI Museum of Art — Chuan Men Zi Wen Luo creates a “Hope Village,” step by step guiding the public to make five major wishes for the coming year: dreams, health, wisdom, courage, and love, crafting unique blessing lantern cups to pray for the future.

In recent years, issues such as global warming and energy conservation have garnered much attention. The blessing lantern cups at the QINMEI Museum of Art all use solar-powered LED lights. During the day, the lanterns naturally absorb and store solar energy, then glow brightly in the evening, radiating blessings and creating a new environmentally friendly form of artistic installation. Floor-standing lanterns flicker softly like candles, while hanging lanterns twinkle like the starry sky, setting a romantic atmosphere for Christmas and the New Year. Green energy advocacy begins with artistic living.
