Hot couple explores Tainan on T-bikes in 10 hours covering 23 stations, including Chimei and Shigu

Since its launch in August last year, Tainan’s T-Bike system has grown to include 23 stations across six districts. But do you know how long it takes to ride all of them?A couple, driven by their spirit of experimentation, set out to ride and explore all 23 stations within a single day, completing the challenge in 10 hours.

Completing all 23 stations was no easy feat. The entire journey took them 10 hours — 6 hours were spent actually cycling, and 4 hours were used for resting and sightseeing. Starting from the northernmost Nantech Station of Taiwan Railways, they passed through Community Center Station, Nantech Museum Administration Station, Shuguh Science Life Museum Station, Xiaked Lake Station, Kaiyuan Transfer Station, Heshun Park Station, Minsheng Transfer Station, Anyi Parking Lot Station, Tainan City Government Station, Chihkan Tower Station, Art Museum Station, Health XiMen Road Station, Shuijiao Community Cultural Park Station, Yianping Prince Shrine Station, Sports Park Station, Health Bureau Station, Chia Nan University of Pharmacy and Science Station, Metropolitan Park - Taiwan 1 South Parking Lot Station, Metropolitan Park - Wenhua Road Station, Shigu Cultural Village Station, Metropolitan Park - Wenxian Road Station, and finally the terminal Baodian Transfer Station. Along the way, they visited famous landmarks such as the Chimei Museum, Shigu Sugar Refinery, and various historic sites, covering a total distance of 57.5 kilometers.

The couple who took on this challenge said that after such a long journey, they found Tainan’s T-Bikes to be of good quality — not only easy to ride, but each bike also comes with a phone mount for navigation, which they found very convenient and thoughtful. They also encouraged local residents to make more use of the T-Bike system to contribute to energy conservation and carbon reduction for the planet.

To promote T-Bike usage, the Transportation Bureau has decided to maintain the “first 30 minutes free” policy until December 31, 2017 (106 year in Taiwan calendar).They also promised to add 28 new stations in areas such as Tainan Railway Station, Tainan Park, Barker Road Park, and around National Cheng Kung University by May.
