1. Make a detailed packing checklist
Packing can be especially stressful—you're worried about forgetting something or bringing too much unnecessary stuff, which wastes time and causes hassle. Instead, list what you need in advance, organize items into categories like clothes, electronics, cosmetics... and mark what's already packed. This way, packing becomes less stressful!

2. Don’t forget travel and medical insurance
It’s always good to have insurance, especially for independent travel—it helps you prepare for the unexpected. If your luggage is stolen or you suddenly need medical care, insurance provides protection. With travel insurance, you can also call for professional assistance in emergencies.

3. Don’t forget these small essentials
Besides a universal travel adapter, storage bags, and small locks, if you’re worried about poor sleep, eye masks and earplugs are also important. If you’re afraid of getting hungry, don’t forget to pack some chocolate or snacks for a quick bite.

4. Double-check your accommodation and transport
If you’ve booked transportation and lodging online, it’s best to call or confirm via email before departure. Also, don’t forget to take or carry booking confirmations just in case.
5. Take photos of important documents for backup
In addition to making sure you have all your documents before leaving, use your phone or camera to photograph each one for backup, including keeping an electronic copy of your flight tickets. Most importantly, keep two copies of your ID photos in your wallet in case you need to replace lost documents urgently.
6. Arrange for someone to look after your home
If you’re going away for an extended period, remember to ask family or friends to check on your home regularly, so no one thinks the house is unoccupied—a prime target for crime. If you have no one to help, consider installing an automatic light timer. Once set up, the lights will turn on and off at scheduled times, offering some theft deterrence.
