Remember before the Taipei mayoral election, Mayor Ko Wen-je specially arranged a “7-step Taipei tour” itinerary, visiting the easternmost, westernmost, southernmost, and northernmost administrative districts of Taipei to check in, sparking a wave of followers making pilgrimages to these spots as a tourism trend. This route, jokingly dubbed by netizens as the “essence of Mayor Ko’s one-day Taipei tour promotion route,” actually features many beautifully scenic and distinctive trails nearby, allowing you to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy Taipei’s stunning mountain and forest landscapes.

The scenery along the way is as beautiful as in the easternmost part of Taipei—Nangang District’s Jiuzhuang Li is perfect for hiking and tea tasting. Among them, the “Osmanthus Suspension Bridge Trail” is named after the exquisitely painted osmanthus suspension bridge, which looks elegant and fresh amidst the lush green mountains and forests. The two adorable large teapots at the head of the bridge are a must-visit photo spot for tourists. Additionally, the “Demonstration Tea Factory Mountain-Encircling Trail” offers views of distant tea fields and the rising smoke from tea boiling, as if time slows down for the beauty before your eyes, freezing in memories captured in each photograph.

In the southernmost Wenshan District’s Zhinan Li, there is the “Camphor Tree & Camphor Lake Loop Trail,” formed by connecting the rustic-style “Camphor Tree Trail” and the musical-themed “Camphor Lake Trail.” Strolling along it allows you to experience a strong sense of old-time romance, and the addition of the “Cat Treasure Hunt” stamp activity adds even more fun, making it a must-visit hotspot in the Maokong area.
