Travel from Taipei to Osaka with ease: Nankai Railway discount tickets available in Taiwan

Taipei's Taoyuan Airport MRT is approaching its first anniversary since opening, and the Taoyuan Rapid Transit Corporation has recently collaborated with Japanese partners to launch the limited-edition “Travel Taiwan Osaka Pass” commemorative ticket set. This pass allows travelers to take the Taoyuan Airport MRT from the airport to Taipei Station, and then use the same ticket to ride the Nankai Electric Railway from Kansai Airport to Namba in Osaka when traveling to Japan. This marks the first collaboration between a Taiwanese transportation service and a Japanese railway company, further promoting international exchange and tourism.

To boost tourism between Taiwan and Japan, four companies—the Taoyuan Airport MRT, Taoyuan International Airport, Kansai Airport, and Nankai Electric Railway—have joined forces to launch 3,000 limited-edition “Travel Taiwan Osaka Pass” commemorative ticket sets, directly linking Taoyuan and Kansai for a seamless travel experience.

The “Travel Taiwan Osaka Pass” limited-edition commemorative ticket set can be purchased or redeemed not only at Taoyuan MRT’s A1 Taipei Station, A12 Airport Terminal 1 Station, and A13 Airport Terminal 2 Station, but also at the “Taoyuan Airport MRT Service Counter” in the arrival halls of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Taoyuan Airport. In collaboration with Japan’s Nankai Electric Railway, the pass is not only available to travelers from Taiwan, but also to those coming from Japan to Taiwan, who can purchase or redeem it at Nankai Namba Station’s 2F Service Center, Nankai Namba Station’s 3F Express Ticket Window, Shin-Imamiya Station, Tennōji Station, and Kansai Airport Station. This greatly improves convenience for travelers from both countries, offering opportunities to buy and use the pass whether traveling from Taiwan or Kansai.

This Taiwan-Japan simultaneous release of the “Travel Taiwan Osaka Pass” ticket set is limited to 3,000 units (2,000 in Taiwan and 1,000 in Japan), priced at NT$470 (¥1,770). It promotes closer ties between the two regions and offers a range of benefits.

In addition to the interconnecting transportation tickets, the ticket set also includes discounts at designated shops at both Taoyuan Airport and Kansai Airport. These include discounts at Taiwan’s Shin Dong Yang, food court outlets, and souvenir shops, as well as discounts at Japanese stores and services such as Pokémon Store, KYOTO CRAFT MART, and Kansai Airport Baggage Service.
