The waterfront light sea installation is a must-photograph new attraction at Green River Corridor

Taichung’s new attraction, the Green River Waterfront Project, has entered its final stage of construction and will open before Lunar New Year. The beautiful riverside of Green River from the Japanese colonial period runs through the bustling streets of Central District, rivaling Kyoto’s Kamo River in Japan, earning it the reputation of a “Little Kyoto.” S-shaped waterways, waterside walkways, and the riverbanks are all adorned with light art installations. Recently, the nighttime trial lighting has created a captivating scene, attracting passersby to stop and take photos.

The Japanese-style Green River waterway features lighting installations including jellyfish groups on the water surface, dandelions, and gradient vine flower seas. More artistic light displays will be added gradually to enhance the overall romantic ambiance of Green River. It is currently in the trial lighting phase, and visitors can come and enjoy an early preview.

To further enhance the unique charm of Green River, the Water Resources Bureau specially designed an exclusive riverside brand logo for Green River, drawing inspiration from the culture of the old city in Central District to interpret nostalgic scenes from the Japanese colonial period. As Taiwan’s first registered trademark river and waterfront, Green River has become a pioneer in modern waterfront branding, blending local tradition with modern trends and emphasizing the equal importance of urban development and natural ecology, showcasing regional cultural creativity.
