Celebrate Spring Festival in “Jia”! Admire Flowers and Birds to Your Heart’s Content at Alishan and Aoju Wetlands

During the Spring Festival, Alishan National Scenic Area is in full bloom with mountain cherry blossoms, while elegant white calla lilies stand tall welcoming visitors—each year attracting numerous flower admirers. Another popular destination, Aoju Wetland Forest Park located in Dongshi Township, is ideal for birdwatching. Alishan National Scenic Area operates 24 hours a day without closing, and Aoju Wetland Forest Park also hosts the “Turtle’s Journey – Life Never Ends” wildlife conservation special exhibition. In coordination with the Spring Festival, free shuttle bus services and traffic control plans are implemented to ensure that the public can go out joyfully and return home safely, fully enjoying the fun of visiting Alishan and Aoju Wetland.

Every year during the Spring Festival holiday, Alishan National Scenic Area attracts many visitors traveling up the mountain. To reduce parking time and avoid congestion within the scenic area,the Chiayi Forest District Office has set up seven shuttle bus stops along Highway 89-95 from 8 AM to 5 PM daily from Lunar New Year’s Day to the fifth day (February 19 to February 23, 2015), offering free shuttle services to transport visitors to the main entrance of the scenic area.During the Spring Festival, in addition to temporarily marking parking spaces along both sides of Highway 18 from kilometers 86-95 for cars and buses, 200 motorcycle parking spaces are also designated free of charge outside the main entrance of the scenic area. For traffic flow planning and safety considerations, motorcycles are completely restricted from entering the scenic area during the festival.
