These ten “high-value trails” are mostly short in distance, easy to walk, don’t take much time, yet offer views as expansive as those seen in high mountains. First up is the conveniently locatedXinyi District’s “Xiangshan Hiking Trail”. About 15 minutes into the trail, you’ll reach the oval-shaped Photographer’s Platform, which offers a seamless 270-degree panoramic view—with Taipei 101 seemingly within arm’s reach, and the Taipei Basin along with nearby mountain ranges all spread out before you. Hiking further along the ridge past popular spots like the Six Giant Rocks and the Photography Platform, you'll find great vantage points to admire the views of Taipei.

Another great option is the“Naval Vessel Rock Trail”within Yangming University in Beitou District. Hike up the naturally rugged rock-paved path to the top of Naval Vessel Rock, where the open and expansive scenery along the way rewards you with a 360-degree unobstructed view at the summit, taking in the entire Taipei Basin and surrounding mountain landscape.
