The Yuanxiao Festival (Lantern Festival) on the 15th day of the first lunar month and the “Awakening of Insects,” which marks the start of spring plowing, are approaching. The mountain cherry and Yoshino cherry blossoms at the Gold Ecological Park have begun to bloom, accompanied by thousands of small red lanterns gently hanging from the branches, together welcoming the arrival of the spring deity. The Gold Ecological Park said that during this season, Jinguashi is sometimes shrouded in mist covering the entire mountain, and other times bathed in clear, warm sunshine. These “mining-flavored” cherry blossoms, cheerfully blooming in the mines during the New Year, take on different moods under varying climatic atmospheres—sometimes appearing as if draped in gauze, exuding a dreamy and hazy beauty, and other times basking in the sunlight, freely displaying their splendor. No matter the style, they always attract visitors here for spring outings, all eager to become photography masters, taking photos to commemorate the moment. This year’s most special feature is that during the Lantern Festival, the museum has hung thousands of palm-sized red lanterns among the cherry blossom branches, creating a romantic atmosphere and adding even more charm.
