Taiwan Lantern Festival lights up: Fireworks shows dazzle every day

The 2015 Taiwan Lantern Festival "Taichung Soaring" was held from February 27 to March 15 across three major lantern zones in Fengyuan Miaodong Commercial Area, Taichung Park, and the Wurih High-Speed Rail Special Zone. The main lantern area in Wurih also conducted a fireworks test show on the evening of March 4. The splendid "Golden Flowers" themed fireworks brightly adorned the night sky of the lantern zone, celebrating the Lantern Festival in advance!

The Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, in conjunction with the lighting ceremony of the Year of the Sheep main lantern, arranged a grand 6-minute fireworks show on the evening of March 5, the Lantern Festival. Elaborately designed 3D totem fireworks, 360-degree colorful neon 3D rotating aerial special effects fireworks overturned traditional viewing experiences and defied gravity. It also featured the world’s first 3D “Sheep” shaped Chinese character fireworks design, paired with the “Anger's Wing” (Angel’s Wings) formation, using wings of happiness to lead audiences soaring through the vast night sky, flying joyfully!
