The well-known Japanese tourist attraction “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route,” beloved by travelers to Japan, has announced its opening for this year on April 16th!
This “Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route,” which becomes a popular sightseeing path every April, connects Toyama Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture in Japan, running through the heart of the Chubu-Sangaku National Park.
Once snow removal is completed, the route is officially declared “open” for full traffic. The entire 37-kilometer stretch features snow walls up to 15–20 meters high, offering a breathtaking white mountain road experience.
It is expected to remain open until November 30, 2015.

Additionally, the “Tateyama Kurobe” area is also known as the “Japanese Alps” and the “Roof of Japan.”
It is open to traffic from April to November each year.
Located at an altitude of 2,450 meters, Murodo-daira boasts extraordinarily heavy snowfall, with snow accumulation reaching up to 20 meters.
After snow removal, the spectacular 500-meter-long scenery is particularly breathtaking and is referred to as the Snow Valley (also known as the Great Snow Valley).
Visitors can get off the vehicle here to take a walk and experience the feeling of being surrounded by these towering snow walls.
The “Tateyama Snow Valley Stroll” activity also begins on April 16th and runs until June 22nd, allowing visitors to enjoy a walk while admiring snow walls over 10 meters high on both sides.
The magnificent view also fills the silver-white snowy world with a romantic atmosphere.
