Kansai International Airport began a major renovation of Terminal 1 in March 2014, during which UNIQLO also moved into the airport’s departure area, setting up a 450-square-meter “Departure Area Store.” Taking advantage of the spacious layout, the UNIQLO “Departure Area Store” offers a wide range of products tailored to the climates and seasons of travelers from around the world.Also note that while the UNIQLO Kansai Airport store on the third floor of Terminal 1 remains open as usual, only the new Departure Area Store on the fourth floor provides duty-free services.
Additionally, even if you’re not departing from Kansai Airport, you can still enjoy UNIQLO’s tax refund benefits in Japan.Since Japan introduced new tax refund measures in October 2014, four UNIQLO stores were the first to pilot the refund service. After successful trials, UNIQLO Japan decided to expand the program to 31 additional stores, bringing the total to 35 stores implementing the policy starting February 18, 2015.

5. Receive the tax refund amount
