Adorably limitless: The bird café’s themed meals are ultra-healing
Japanese animal-themed cafés keep popping up one after another. If you’re wary of larger animal cafés featuring owls or lambs, why not try the “Bird Café” (ことりカフェ) located near Omotesando Station; the shop houses birds such as lovebirds, cockatiels, and cockatoos. Dining here allows you to interact with the birds, and there are also many bird-themed meals and merchandise available for purchase. Since opening in early 2014, it has attracted numerous bird enthusiasts on pilgrimages to the café.

The Bird Café currently has two branches in Japan, including the Kichijoji Branch and the Omotesando Branch. Both the interior and exterior designs of the shops follow a fresh and clean style, with bright and simple spaces that are very comfortable. The biggest highlight here is being able to enjoy your meal while admiring the adorable little birds. If you want to interact more closely with the birds, after staff disinfection and accompaniment, you can enter specific rooms to interact with them for a fee of 500 yen per session, limited to five minutes each time.
