Pink skies ahead！ Osaka’s 560-meter cherry blossom tunnel makes a limited debut
According to forecasts by the Japan Weather Association, cherry blossoms in Osaka will begin blooming gradually from March 26, with the best viewing period around April 4. The city’s most popular iconic cherry blossom spot, the “Osaka Mint Bureau Cherry Blossom Pathway,” has also announced its 2015 opening dates for cherry blossom viewing—from April 9 to April 15, open for a limited seven-day period only. During this time, visitors will be able to walk through a tunnel of cherry blossoms woven with white and pink blooms.

The Mint Bureau’s Cherry Blossom Tunnel, located between the south and north gates near the Yodo River, stretches about 540 meters and features up to 130 varieties of cherry trees, totaling around 350 trees. When in full bloom, the entire blue sky is dyed in shades of white and pink. In addition, various colorful light-ups are held after sunset, creating different romantic atmospheres.
