Have you ever been to a brunch shop run by “jokers”? Located in Kaohsiung and only open for three months, the“Laughing man”is abrunch spot dedicated to spreading joy, with hearty ingredients—even their ice cubes are made from fresh milk. The white exterior gives off a rustic vibe, while the interior features a retro handmade style. Its compact, cozy layout creates a little world of its own, allowing guests to start their day in the most relaxed mood possible.

Laughing Man is located in Wende Li, Fengshan District, Kaohsiung, near the Wenshan Special Zone. The owner’s personality matches the shop’s name perfectly—he loves to joke around. He also hopes that through humor, guests can enjoy a relaxed and carefree atmosphere, where even the absurdities of daily life can be laughed off, because “a smile makes everything better.”

The owner’s wife mentioned that she wanted to create a café that matched her own vision and standards. Rather than trying to cater to everyone else, she preferred to build her own lifestyle and values—thus, this brunch shop was born.

To create a brunch shop that stands out from the rest, the owners went to great lengths with their ingredients. For example, the ice cubes in their signature“Black Tea Milk”are made from fresh milk. When the ice melts, it doesn’t overpower the rich flavor of the tea—in fact, it adds a hint of creaminess, making the drink even more aromatic.

Another well-received item is thewrap. Unlike most Mexican wraps that are served cold, theirs are served hot, and the gooey texture keeps customers coming back. The wrap itself has a satisfying bite—crispy yet soft. Whether you choose the pickled lemon chicken or tuna flavor, neither is overly sweet. They’re refreshingly savory with a meaty aroma, and the tuna is made with the Ai-Zhi-Wei brand, avoiding cheap, low-quality ingredients.

Besides the two items above, the pressed toast made with fresh milk bread is also a great choice. They even offer cute Mickey and Minnie shapes that are sure to delight anyone with a sweet tooth. The hand-shaken toast showcases the shop’s creativity—when you open the cup, the aroma of potatoes wafts out, and the soft texture inside lets you feel the chef’s dedication to cooking time. Another thoughtful touch is how the drinks are served in wine bottles, showing that not only is the food top-notch, but the presentation is just as carefully considered.
