Scenic Nantou County boasts the highest density of skywalks in Taiwan, earning it the nickname “the Hometown of the Sky Bridges in Taiwan.” In recent years, attractions such as the Zhushan Taiji Canyon Stairway, Aowanda Suspension Bridge, Monkey Gorge Sky Bridge, Xinyi Liuli Guang Suspension Bridge, and Dragon-Phoenix Waterfall Skywalk have been built. These aerial bridges allow visitors to gaze down at the mountain forests and canyons from above, offering a unique view of Nantou’s beauty.

● Monkey Gorge Sky Bridge

The Sky Bridge is the longest stairway in Taiwan, built within the Bagua Valley, spanning between mountains. From a distance, it resembles a gentle smile hanging high in the valley, hence locals call it the “Smiling Stairway.” Stretching 200 meters in length and suspended 70 meters above the valley floor, walking on the Sky Bridge feels like stepping into the clouds. It offers breathtaking views of the majestic valley. At night, LED lights adorning the bridge illuminate, creating the most beautiful smile.

● Xinyi Township Pinglai Liuli Guang (Amber Light) Bridge

The “Liuli Guang Bridge” in Pinglai Valley, Nantou, features a 54-meter-long bridge deck made of tempered glass. Looking down, you can see the scenery of Pinglai Valley. Walking on the fully transparent glass panel makes every visitor scream in thrill.

● Zhushan Town “Taiji Canyon Stairway”

The stairway suspension bridge located within the Taiji Canyon in Daran Village is Taiwan’s first “stepped cable bridge.” It spans 136 meters with a total of 208 steps. Below the bridge lies the Taiji Canyon, and the seven-story-high staircase, along with the stunning landscape and surrounding rugged cliffs, challenges the physical strength and courage of every visitor. It’s a must-visit hotspot in Nantou.
