The annual Hakka Tung Blossom Season kicked off on April 11. For the fourth consecutive year, the first tung blossoms at Oriental Pearl Amusement Park — the main venue of the Tung Blossom Festival — have also bloomed, heralding this year’s blossom season. To allow every flower-loving visitor to enjoy the beauty of May’s snow-like blossoms, Oriental Pearl Amusement Park is offering free admission on weekends from April 11 to April 26.

In addition, to capture the joyful and heartwarming atmosphere of Oriental Pearl Amusement Park during the 2015 Tung Blossom Season, the “Colorful Park, Blossoming Happiness” National Photography Competition will be held throughout the 2015 Tung Blossom Season (April 11–May 31). The competition invites entries featuring four major themes: “the beautiful scenery of blooming tung blossoms,” “themed performances integrating local cultural characteristics,” “diverse, playful, joyful, and happy scenes,” as well as “other creative tung blossom photography capturing the park’s cultural, scenic, and ecological elements.” A total of 50 works will be selected, and the top three winners will receive not only a three-year subscription to Chinese Photography Magazine but also a cash prize of up to NT$50,000.

※ The two weekend discounts can be used together. A free shuttle bus service is available from Zhuqiao Railway Station to Oriental Pearl Amusement Park. First departure from Zhuqiao Railway Station at 8:30 AM, last departure from Oriental Pearl Amusement Park at 6:00 PM, with one bus per hour.
