As spring arrives, the Yushan azaleas on Hehuan Mountain are expected to gradually bloom around mid-April. To adapt to the harsh alpine environment, Yushan azaleas have developed thick, hard, leathery leaves with glossy, waxy surfaces and rolled leaf edges—all designed to reduce moisture evaporation and withstand the cold. Additionally, visitors planning to go to Hehuan Mountain are reminded that due to the high altitude, spring mornings and evenings see significant temperature variations, the weather is unpredictable, and UV radiation at high altitudes is strong.
