Local experts have introduced pruning techniques from the region’s famous apple industry, making the blossoms look even more beautiful. By applying apple tree pruning methods to old, fragile cherry trees, once-wilted trees now bloom more vibrantly. While typical cherry trees have 3 to 4 buds, those in Hirosaki Park have 5 to 7, creating a more visually striking display. The weight of the blossoms causes the branches to droop gracefully, enhancing the overall beauty of the trees.

The most iconic view in Hirosaki Park is the combination of Hirosaki Castle and cherry blossoms. A classic photo opportunity not to be missed includes the red bridge.
