Welcome the Tung Blossom Festival！ Hsinchu’s Tung Blossom Trails and Pedestrian Bridge Now Open

The “2015 Hsinchu Hakka Tung Blossom Festival” kicked off on April 25 at Gaofeng Botanical Garden, while the Tung Blossom Trail and pedestrian bridge at the Baoshan Road entrance of Shiba Jian Mountain were also completed and opened on April 22, making it safer and more convenient for visitors to travel between Gaofeng Botanical Garden and Shiba Jian Mountain.

This round of Tung Blossom Trail and pedestrian bridge projects in Hsinchu includes a bridge crossing Baoshan Road from Shiba Jian Mountain to Gaofeng Botanical Garden, along with a viewing platform, nighttime lighting, and restrooms; additionally, the Council of Hakka Affairs subsidized the installation of a Tung Blossom Plaza, Tung Blossom Trail, tea-serving pavilion, historic battlefield plaza, as well as a guided tour system for Hakka culture and plant ecology.

This year’s Hakka Tung Blossom Festival will be held from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM on April 25 at Gaofeng Botanical Garden. Through calligraphy, literature, tea ceremonies, flower arrangements, and musical performances, the beauty of Tung Blossoms will be celebrated. The first 1,500 citizens participating in the Tung Blossom hiking event will receive Hakka tea snacks or ground tea packages, as well as watercolor art souvenirs created by local artist Cheng Chen-wen themed around Tung Blossoms.
