The Cutest Passengers Ever: Japan Launches a Penguin-Themed Train
Want to see penguins marching in adorable formation up close? You don’t have to go to an aquarium or zoo—you can do it on a Japanese train. Kintetsu Railway has launched the “Penguin Train” on the Kintetsu Shima Line. With advance reservations, passengers can ride the train with penguins, get up close and personal with these adorable creatures, and even visit the Shima Aquarium.

Kintetsu Railway has combined its Shima Line trains with the Shima Aquarium in an effort to boost regional tourism. The Penguin Train runs between Toba Station and Kashikojima Station, and during the journey, penguins are allowed into the carriages to walk around. To ride the Penguin Train, passengers must book the experience in advance. Reservations for the “Penguin Train” tour are now open and can be made at any Kintetsu station. Each train has a limit of 150 passengers. In addition to riding the Penguin Train, travelers can also visit the Shima Aquarium and enjoy the fun of feeding small fish themselves.
