The much-loved Hello Kitty is graduating from the Maokong Gondola service. Since becoming the gondola's mascot at the end of 2013, Hello Kitty has drawn more than 4 million visitors. Though it’s hard to say farewell, the time has come—May 3, 2015, is Hello Kitty’s “final duty day.” Visitors hoping to personally bid farewell to the gondola’s feline icon should act fast.

During Hello Kitty’s tenure as mascot, not only could passengers see her adorable presence in stations and gondolas, but even gendered restroom signs were replaced by Kitty figures. In addition, the “Maokong Gondola Edition Hello Kitty merchandise,” exclusively designed for the attraction, became highly sought-after souvenirs among fans. To let everyone take home a unique memento of the gondola-themed Kitty, the Maokong Gondola has launched a range of products and special appreciation events. Fans can visit the ticket office on the first floor of the Maokong Gondola Zoo Station, the merchandise stands, or the Taipei Metro Goods Store to check them out.
