Best Travel Companion for Moms on Mother’s Day: Ko Wen-je Beats Takeshi Kaneshiro

Mother’s Day is approaching, and online hotel booking platform Hotels.com conducted a survey among Taiwanese mothers and their children regarding their views on Mother’s Day gifts. The results showed that over half (51.3%) of the surveyed mothers hope to receive a trip as a gift, with Tokyo being the most favored travel city among moms. In addition, an ideal travel companion survey was also conducted among moms, which revealed that Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je beat Takeshi Kaneshiro as a dark horse to take third place!

According to the Hotels.com survey results, nearly 80% of mothers said that if they received a trip as a Mother’s Day gift, they would most like to go with their family, and over 50% hope to travel with the entire family. However, when asked about who they would least like to travel with, more than a quarter of the mothers said they do not want to travel with their in-laws. Additionally, the survey asked mothers who, if given free accommodation, would be their dream travel companions — and the results were quite interesting. Mothers most want to spend an evening with heartthrob Takeshi Kaneshiro, followed by the maturely charming Andy Lau in second place. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je, as a dark horse, ranked third, showcasing an alternative mature charm and beating Takeshi Kaneshiro and Brad Pitt in fourth and fifth place.

In terms of trip duration, 65.4% of the surveyed mothers said they hope this Mother’s Day trip can last at least four to seven days. The most desired destination is Tokyo, followed by other cities in Taiwan, with Paris and Dubai also being among the top travel destinations moms wish to visit.

This survey also asked children about their views on Mother’s Day travel, revealing some differences between how moms and their children plan trips. Taiwanese children generally prefer to arrange trips to Asian cities.
