No need to wait for autumn to enjoy poetic red foliage on Tai Ping Mountain. Every spring, the "purple-leaf maples" on both sides of the central staircase at Tai Ping Villa sprout new leaves in deep purple-red hues, their fiery and vivid colors adding a splash of brilliance amid the lush greenery, astonishing visitors amidst the mountain forests and wild fields.

The leaves of maple and Acer trees are actually what the general public commonly refers to as "maple leaves." Usually, they change color only after autumn arrives and temperatures cool down. However, purple-leaf maples display a deep purple color from the moment their new leaves emerge. On Tai Ping Mountain, the purple-leaf maples can be admired from April until around October when they shed their leaves. In the following spring, as new buds gradually emerge, the deep purple leaves start growing again.

The purple-leaf maples on Tai Ping Mountain are mainly located on both sides of the central staircase. The staircase stretches straight upward, and along the way, the purple-leaf maples glow a fiery red under the sunlight, looking as vivid as a painting. Walking up the staircase feels like strolling beneath a tunnel of red leaves, gradually leading to the primeval forest of Tai Ping Mountain. Along the path, the Tai Ping Poetry Route accompanies you, immersing you in the ambience of phytoncides wafting through the cypress woods while enjoying the mountain scenery.
