Tucked away in the alleys of Shengping Street in Taichung, Hungry Jacob (Excuses Burgers) is located near Qimei Greenway. It’s a cozy little shop with a rustic general store vibe, featuring warm lighting, wooden decor, and small green plants, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The shop serves generous burgers with a rich variety of flavors, paired with distinctive international sauces, allowing every guest to travel the world with their taste buds alongside the owner.

The wooden-dominated space design and many handmade furniture items give the shop a rustic touch. There aren’t many seats on the first floor. Aside from a simple open bar counter, an interesting feature is the exposed red brick wall behind the seating area, which has been cemented over with a map of the seven continents, creating a stylish world map. The surrounding walls also display photography works by the travel-loving burger shop owner. Enjoying a burger while admiring these photos makes for a meal full of travel-inspired imagination. The second-floor seating area is much more spacious than the first floor. Thanks to the windows, natural light floods the room. The white walls and simple wooden furniture make the second-floor area especially fresh and airy, making it perfect for gatherings with friends.
